Unique and Accessible New Facility at Cary Neighborhood Park

New City Design on May 30, 2019

When New City Design Group was asked to provide an accessible restroom facility to a neighborhood park in Cary, it sounded like a simple and straightforward project. However, zoning and floodplain requirements on a steeply sloping site dictated an elevated structure and an opportunity to provide something more.

The result is a playful “treehouse” design that includes a floating walkway that overlooks the playground below!

Check it out by visiting MacDonald Woods Park at 1601 Seabrook Avenue, where you’ll also find a variety of kids’ play equipment, plus a sand pit, athletic field, and picnic tables.
